Review:
Most of Bivas Chaudhury's works are mixed media monoprints composed of forms that move from an organic simplicity to a little bit more convoluted complexity. For the reason why he chose this medium, the artist says that it seems to be able to offer him more freedom of expression and appears to be emblematic of modern times. He further states that "Art should reflect the total achievement of our times. This belief has led me to incorporate a variety of skills including those of the sciences, the arts and technology." One of Chaudhury's goals has been to blend some of the concepts and techniques of Western Painting into Indian Painting and vise-versa. Available research materials of Bivas Chaudhury in the AAAC Archives are 20 slides, two large prints of the slide images of his works and invitation cards.
