Review:
Kenta Furusho Following his imagination and his desire to achieve a sense of freedom through his life, Kenta Furusho has intended to expand the world with magical images through creating playful installations, sculptures and paintings. He has used ceramics, fabric, and found objects to express his joy in making art. The Visual Arts Director of Jamaica Center For Arts & Learning Karina Skvirsky, wrote in her essay of the artist's solo exhibition that "This delight, however, should not be mistaken for frivolity. His work delves into important issues in contemporary art - transformation and disfigurement of the body, the political connotations surrounding the national flag, and the dangers of nationalism." Available research materials of Kenta Furusho in the AAAC Archives are 59 slides, seven colored prints of his sculptures, five colored photographs of his works, two invitation cards, a catalog of the artist's solo exhibition and reviews.
