ARTIST ARCHIVE
The Asian American Artist Slide Archive is open to all visual artists residing in the United States and its trust territories, and who are of Asian ancestry. Artists whose art work is significantly influenced by Asian culture are also invited to submit work. The artists are responsible for keeping their files updated.
This is one of the largest historical archive of near 1000 Asian American artists' materials including biographical materials, publications, statements, reviews, catalogues, invites, notes, video tapes, taped interviews, and samples of works in slides. It documents the development of Asian American art over the last 55 years. The archive has been utilized to organize Arts Centre's Annual Exhibition and publishers, curators, art consultants, community organizations as well as international facilities have used the archive. The submitted materials are reviewed every summer with outside art professionals to organize Asian American Arts | Centre Annual Exhibition in the fall. The archive is available to public on the Asian American Arts Centre's website and/or open during office hours by appointment only.
To be represented in the Archive, please submit the following.- 20x35mm labeled slides
- Digitalized artwork: TIF or JPG, on CD or DVD
- 1 page artist statement
- artist resume
- other support material (catalogs, reviews, announcement cards, etc)
- completed information form
